About Us
SBM Literary formed in 2009, when I was still a college student, struggling between meals. Since then, my client list has grown, and I've had the opportunity to work with award-winning authors, business owners, and other industry professionals across the world.
Some of my clients have gone on to be represented and published by well-known literary agencies and publishing groups, such as Writers House, Sandra Dijkstra Literary Agency, McIntosh & Otis, Hachette, and Simon & Schuster. Others have gone on to win national awards like the All-USA Academic Scholarship and the LAURA Short Fiction Award for Women Writing the West.
As for who I am as an editor, I'm a curious and collaborative editor, interested in maintaining my client's artistic integrity while still trying to take their work and understanding of current literary practices to the next level. Although I focus mostly on fiction, I take on all nature of projects for both traditional and self-publishing. My specializations include: YA, MG, NA, chapter books, picture books, graphic novels, fantasy, romance, mystery, public speeches, business contracts, proposals, and academic nonfiction. I provide editorial assessments, developmental edits, copy edits, line edits, proofreading, query letter and synopsis critiques, and phone consultations.
